The Ribble Valley is home to many award winning pubs and restaurants; Woody’s Retreat sits halfway between two excellent establishments, with the Coach & Horses and the Spread Eagle less than two miles from your front door.

Shop Till You Drop

Woody’s Retreat is less than a mile from the A59, and from there it is an easy drive to Clitheroe or Skipton – two of the NorthWest’s most loved market towns. Meet local traders selling their goods on Market days, or visit one of the many boutique stores selling country crafts and clothing. The Chocolate Works and Byrne’s Wine shop are not to be missed!

Action Packed

While Woody’s Retreat is a calm oasis, you don’t have to go far to get your blood pumping! Gisburn Forest is a twenty minute drive away, and features mountain bike trails for all levels. Forty minutes away you can find WhiteScar Caves, a thrilling descent into the dark – not for the claustrophobic!

History on Your Doorstep

The Forest of Bowland is a protected Area History Lovers will find more than can fit in a single trip when they visit Woody’s Retreat. Clitheroe Castle Museum is well worth investigating to learn more about the Pendle Witches, while Skipton Castle (pictured left) is a fantastic day out for children and adults alike.
